Starletha Cherry, also know as Star, was born in Jacksonville, Florida.
She began to seek her purpose and found that she would volunteer for Hubbard
House for two years in the capacity of Support Group facilitator. After
volunteering for two years she was offered a full-time position with the
agency as an Adult Outreach Advocate. Star has found her purpose, to help
victims of Domestic Violence rediscover who they are and find their purpose
for themselves and children. |
Starletha believes that Women Weight & Why, Inc. is an organization
that will address women’s issues that involve self-esteem to financial
challenges. She believes that through her writings women will be able
to gather inspiring words that will give them courage to pursue dreams
and aspirations that have been placed on hold. As a woman Star knows that
it is important to be surrounded by others that are positive influences
in life. Her affiliation with Women Weight & Why, Inc. is due to the
vision to reach women and help them realize their God given purpose.
God inspires her to write and share with others messages from the heart
stemming from a spiritual foundation. Having faith is what keeps her on
track with the belief and knowledge that without faith in God, she can
do nothing. Star also realizes that Women Weight & Why, Inc. is an
awesome forum to share her thoughts on the importance that women be healthy
mentally, physically, financially and spiritually to be an asset to their
families.
Starletha’s community involvement includes her membership at Shiloh
Metropolitan Baptist Church, where she participates in the Sisters of
Joy bible study class, Women’s and Singles Ministries. She continues
to maintain a volunteer status with Hubbard House and is a member of the
Speakers Bureau, The Executive Circle, and a Notary Public of Florida.
